One archive with every derived dataset, a README stating the method and the limits, and a manifest with a SHA-256 for each file: mulden-datasets.zip (3 MB). Per-fund files, the point-in-time positions and the MCP endpoint are all on the data page.
- 1,069 funds measured from their own SEC Form N-PORT filings.
- 24,300 quarterly observations, 2019-09-30 to 2026-07-31.
- 235,641 fund pairs with overlap, shared holdings and combined concentration.
- 742 lending funds and the 116 firms borrowing from them, by name and legal entity identifier.
- Monthly total returns as the funds reported them, cross-checked against an independent series.
Attribution means a credit to themulden.com and a note if you changed something. In an article, a research note, a thesis or a blog post, that is the whole cost.
When CC BY does not fit
Three situations come up, and a commercial licence answers all three:
- The credit line has nowhere to go. A figure inside a product screen, a client deliverable, a regulated document or an API response often cannot carry an attribution notice. CC BY still requires one.
- You need someone to point at. If a number is wrong and it reached a client, "we took it from a free dataset" is not an answer. A licence names a counterparty, states what was checked and how, and gives you a correction commitment in writing.
- You need it to keep arriving. The public files update when they update. A licence can state a cadence and a delivery format that your pipeline can depend on.
What you would actually be buying
Not access — access is free and stays free. You are buying terms: a written licence removing the attribution condition for your use, naming a counterparty behind the figures, and fixing a delivery cadence. Nothing is removed from the public files to create it.
It is worth being plain about what is not on offer. The raw N-PORT filings are public domain and EDGAR serves them to anyone; this is not a filings feed and does not compete with one. What is scarce here is the measurement: one method applied consistently across 24,300 observations since 2019, documented, and checked twice before every release.
How the figures are checked
Every release recomputes each dataset and compares it against a second, independent reading: the overlap matrix against a separate implementation, the filed returns against a price-derived series, the lending figures re-read with a different parser. A disagreement stops the release rather than being averaged away. Where two readings of the same fund disagree and neither can be shown right, the summary figure is withheld and the fund is named. The log is public: verification.
Corrections are made in place with a dated note, including corrections to this site's own earlier claims. That record is the thing being licensed as much as the numbers are.
Buy it
Checkout is not open yet. Until it is, write to stewardwealth.blog@gmail.com and you will get the same terms at the same price.
Read the licence before paying, not after: the full text is published. Nothing is withheld until purchase. It is one payment, there is nothing recurring to cancel, and the version you receive is yours permanently even if this site stops.
And the honest version first: if a credit line fits your use, you do not need this. Take the free archive, credit themulden.com, and keep the $290. That answer is given when asked, too.
Refundable for fourteen days, no questions and no reason required. That is offered rather than restricted because it costs nothing to offer: the archive is free to download without paying, so a refund returns money for something you could have had anyway. A policy that only existed on paper would be worth nothing here.
To be exact about what a refund does, since the free download makes it a fair question: the refund ends the licence, not your copy of the files. You keep the data on the same CC BY 4.0 terms as everybody else — free, with attribution — and the commercial terms, which are the only thing the payment bought, end with it. Buying, downloading and refunding therefore leaves you exactly where a visitor who never paid already stands.
Independent: this site is not paid by any fund or issuer it covers, and a licence does not buy influence over a figure. If a measurement is unflattering to a licensee's product it stays as measured — that is the only reason the data is worth anything.
