What is measured
Every US fund that files Form N-PORT reports each position and its weight. From those filings this site computes, for 1,069 funds: how many holdings a fund behaves like once weights are taken into account (the effective holding count), what share of a dollar two funds hold in the same companies (275 pairs), how that concentration has moved quarter by quarter since 2019 (1,049 funds), where a leveraged fund's exposure actually comes from, and — from Form 13F — what 24 named institutional managers reported holding. The methodology page states every definition and every known limit.
How it is done
Figures are computed from the primary filing, never typed in. Ten published figures are re-derived from the filings every day and compared with what the site shows. When a rule turns out to be wrong — as one did in September 2026, when securities-lending collateral was found inflating the headline for 73 funds — the correction is made across the site, dated, and written up rather than quietly patched.
Return-based statistics (drawdown, withdrawal simulations) use Yahoo Finance monthly total returns and are labelled as such wherever they appear; they are a different grade of source from an SEC filing and are never mixed with one without saying so.
Independence
No sponsors, no affiliate links, no sponsored placements and no payment from any fund, issuer or manager measured here. The site carries no advertising at the time of writing; if display advertising is ever added, this page and the terms will say so on the day it starts. Nothing here recommends buying, selling or holding anything.
Who writes it
An independent long-term index-fund investor with a research-science background, writing under the site's name rather than a personal one. Investing is not the day job; the discipline of checking a number against its source is. The site is written from a stewardship frame — capital as something entrusted, to be handled carefully rather than maximised at any cost — and that frame shapes what is worth measuring, never the measurements themselves.
